-Increasing Functional Fitness (the ability to perform daily physical tasks) by exercising functional movements and not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture/situation as created by a gym equipment. Daily functional movement includes getting in and out of a chair or picking up an object safely off the floor; real world application.
We will be teaching fundamental, functional and compound (multi-joint/muscle/nerve) movements like the squat because getting in and out of a chair or picking up an object safely off the floor are important to daily functions.
